Wedding Ceremony Music Guide: Tips on selecting songs for your Wedding Ceremony When planning a wedding there are so many decisions to make and sometimes the process can feel overwhelming. Having over 15 years of experience in playing the harp at wedding ceremonies, let me guide you through the process of selecting the songs for your Ceremony so that the experience will be fun and stress free for you!
The first step is understanding the structure of the Wedding Ceremony. Here is the typical flow of the ceremony music, but this can be totally customized for you!
The second step is to assign a song for each moment. If you are getting married in a sacred space there might be musical requirements; talk to your officiant and mention there will be a harpist playing or check with your venue manager. If there are no restriction to take into account, I encourage you to choose your very favorite songs!

5 Reasons to hire a Professional Harpist for your Wedding:
If you are debating whether having live harp music at your wedding ceremony or just have a DJ play recorded music, I am here to tell you why you should hire a professional harpist today!
Here is how I typically approach weddings: 30 minutes before your start time, I’ll serenade your guests as they arrive with music we work together to pick. This gets them in the right frame of mind for your wedding, and prevents awkwardness and endless scrolling on TikTok before you walk down the aisle. It also makes for great photos! Next, I’ll play your selected music for your wedding party’s procession down the aisle. One thing I can do that others can’t is I will time the music to fade out gently when the last person arrives at the altar. This way, you can get to the part of your wedding you're eagerly awaiting. My favorite part comes next: the procession of the bride (or groom). Imagine walking down the aisle to the song you’ve been dreaming of performed live by our strings. It’s a beautiful moment you’ll never forget. After I fade my music gently (so you’re not waiting minutes to start), your officiant begins the proceedings. About half of my couples choose to do a Unity Candle (or other Unity Ceremony), and I can play music during that so your guests don’t experience awkward silence. You exchange vows and rings, and then your officiant pronounces you the newly married couple! I’ll help you get the party started with music as you walk back up the aisle (the Recessional), and I’ll keep playing after as your wedding party and guests follow. If you choose to have me stay and play for cocktail hour, I’ll keep you and your guests entertained with your favorite music that shows off your taste and style. Guests love hearing songs they recognize played by harp - people say it’s just like Bridgerton! What are you waiting for? Inquire for my availability today! Christmas Carols on HarpChristmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I have great memories from my childhood of this special moment. Still now I love decorating the tree with Nat King Cole singing in the background!
This year I decided to share my Holiday Spirit with the world, by posting on Instagram and Youtube my favorite Christmas Carols played on the harp. These are my top 6 Christmas Carols: - O Tannenbaum🎄 - We Three Kings of Orient Are - Deck the halls - O Holy night - Patapan - Angels We Have Heard on High (Westminster Carol) You can hear me playing them on my YouTube Channel and Instagram Page. Let me know in the comments which one you enjoyed the most! Wedding Portrait Pictures with harpDid you know that you can take Portrait Wedding Pictures with my harp after your Ceremony? The harp is such a beautiful piece of art that it always captures your wedding photographer's eye. Usually photographers would capture me playing during Prelude or Cocktail Reception, but a great way to have a unique picture in your wedding album is to get an editorial image of the married couple with the harp! This will step up your wedding portfolio's game, your wedding portraits will be like a photoshoot with a high-end and luxury feel. In this picture you can see Isabella, one of my dearest clients, posing with my Harp after her Wedding Ceremony at Silver Creek Valley Country Club. LGBTQ weddings in San FranciscoAs a San Francisco based harpist, I feel so lucky to live in a city where we can all be able to celebrate LOVE in all its forms in an inclusive way.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to work with Luciana and Masumi by Events by GS. They specialize in planning and coordinating LGBTQIA weddings. I played during the intimate ceremony and cocktail reception of Ben and Max in the garden patio of Stable Café in San Francisco. Thanks to the landmark Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage in 2015, LGBTQ+ weddings are now legal in all 50 states. Same-sex and LGBTQ couples are eligible to get a marriage license in all 50 states to make their union legally recognized. "The power of love is that it sees all people.” ― DaShanne Stokes Here are some of LGBTQ friendly venues I played in the past:
If you are planning your LGBTQ wedding in 2023 in the San Francisco Bay Area and are looking for vendors that share the same beliefs, make sure to send me and email and reserve your date today for unforgettable harp music! Favorite Wedding locations in 2022I've been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 5 years now and I've played in many venues for weddings and private events.
Yet, I was surprised to discover so many gorgeous wedding locations this year. Here' a list of some of my favorite wedding venues in the San Francisco Bay Area:
All of these beautiful venues are harp friendly, some are only outdoors some are only indoors and some have both options. The most elegant one is in my opinion Carneros Resort, that brought back memories of when I was living in Italy and performed in 5 start luxury resorts in Tuscany. On the other hand I really enjoy playing in lush gardens, outdoors settings that I feel have a special connection with the sound on the harp. So If this is your vibe I would definitely recommend Botanical Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Saratoga Springs and the Secret Garden in Bodega Bay. Lastly, small intimate historic chapels are so fascinating on their own that adding the harp is simply icing on the cake! Can't wait to be back and play in these stunning Bay Area wedding venues in 2023! Weddings in 2022As the 2022 wedding season is coming to an end it's time for my to reflect on how this year went for me and my business.
Wow, what an incredible year! Coming out from 2 years of uncertainties due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the wedding industry kicked off and amazing 2022 season. Couples that had to postpone their weddings could finally pronounce their vows in front for their families and friends. I've been incredibly blessed with so many couples that decided to hire me to play as they were walking down the aisle, as they exchanged rings and as they enjoyed they day among their guests. I'd like to thank all the couples and wedding planners that choose me to be the soundtrack of their event. I'm very thankful for this and I'm glad I was able to meet your expectations and ever more! Can't wait to see what 2023 weddings will be like! |
