Wedding Ceremony Music Guide: Tips on selecting songs for your Wedding Ceremony
When planning a wedding there are so many decisions to make and sometimes the process can feel overwhelming. Having over 15 years of experience in playing the harp at wedding ceremonies, let me guide you through the process of selecting the songs for your Ceremony so that the experience will be fun and stress free for you!
The first step is understanding the structure of the Wedding Ceremony. Here is the typical flow of the ceremony music, but this can be totally customized for you!
PRELUDE - Music played before the official start of the ceremony as your guests arrive and are seated. This is a live concert for your guests and it will elevate your guests' experience, impressing them with a "wow effect" as soon as they get to your venue.
WEDDING PARTY PROCESSIONAL - Entrance of the wedding party. This is the entrance of the groom/1st partner followed by family members (grandparents, parents etc...), bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls and ring bearer.
BRIDE/MARRIER PROCESSIONAL - Entrance of the bride/marrier , also known as the grand entrance!
RECESSIONAL - Exit music at the end of the ceremony.
The second step is to assign a song for each moment. If you are getting married in a sacred space there might be musical requirements; talk to your officiant and mention there will be a harpist playing or check with your venue manager. If there are no restriction to take into account, I encourage you to choose your very favorite songs!
For the Processional start by checking out this collection I created, it includes classical pieces as well as pop songs covers and famous movies themes.
For the Recessional I recommend using something joyful. "You are The Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne is one of my favorite and it sounds amazing on the harp! If you'd like something classical go with the "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn, this is instantly recognizable!
Take advantage of having a live harpist playing at your Wedding Ceremony and have me play a soft harp background during the "I-do", the kiss moment, or for a Unity Ceremony. As a professional harpist I understand wedding timing and I'm able to quickly react to changes on the fly creating a seamless musical experience.

5 Reasons to hire a Professional Harpist for your Wedding: If you are debating whether having live music at your wedding ceremony or just have a DJ play recorded music, I am here to tell you why you should hire a professional harpist today!
The Wow Factor: The harp adds a fascinating visual element to your event, in addition to its beautiful sound. It’s aesthetically aligned to the event, it’s sound and look is so romantic and magical.
Unique and personal soundtrack with a twist: Being responsive to the room, tailoring versions of songs to hit all the high notes in all the right places. You really cannot beat it. Having a harpist play a meaningful song to you will bring to tears all across the room.
Full sound: A Harp has a full sound, complete sound like a piano, but has an uncommon and unique tone and it can be amplified to reach all the corners of your gorgeous outdoor location!
Supporting local artists: Choosing live Harp music for your wedding day is a great way to set the tone for the day and entertain your guests with incredible local talent.
Great value: A solo harp is more cost effective than an ensemble, but has a similar impact. It sounds amazing on it’s own so there is no need to hire additional musicians (saving you $$$)

Wedding Portrait Pictures with harp
Did you know that you can take Portrait Wedding Pictures with my harp after your Ceremony? The harp is such a beautiful piece of art that it always captures your wedding photographer's eye. Usually photographers would capture me playing during Prelude or Cocktail Reception, but a great way to have a unique picture in your wedding album is to get an editorial image of the married couple with the harp! This will step up your wedding portfolio's game, your wedding portraits will be like a photoshoot with a high-end and luxury feel.

As a San Francisco based harpist, I feel so lucky to live in a city where we can all be able to celebrate LOVE in all its forms in an inclusive way.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to work with Luciana and Masumi by Events by GS. They specialize in planning and coordinating LGBTQIA weddings. I played during the intimate ceremony and cocktail reception of Ben and Maxin the garden patio of Stable Café in San Francisco.
Thanks to the landmark Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage in 2015, LGBTQ+ weddings are now legal in all 50 states. Same-sex and LGBTQ couples are eligible to get a marriage license in all 50 states to make their union legally recognized.

I've been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 5 years now and I've played in many venues for weddings and private events. Yet, I was surprised to discover so many gorgeous wedding locations this year.
Here' a list of some of my favorite wedding venues in the San Francisco Bay Area:
Old Saint Hilary's Historic Church, Tiburon
Botanical Gardens, San Francisco
Shakespeare Garden, San Francisco
Swedenborgian Church, San Francisco
Hacienda de las Flores, Moraga
Carneros Resort and Spa, Napa
Saratoga Springs Events & Weddings, Saratoga
Chapel on the hill, Los Gatos
The Secret Garden, Bodega Bay
All of these beautiful venues are harp friendly, some are only outdoors some are only indoors and some have both options.
The most elegant one is in my opinion Carneros Resort, that brought back memories of when I was living in Italy and performed in 5 start luxury resorts in Tuscany.
On the other hand I really enjoy playing in lush gardens, outdoors settings that I feel have a special connection with the sound on the harp. So If this is your vibe I would definitely recommend Botanical Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Saratoga Springs and the Secret Garden in Bodega Bay.
Lastly, small intimate historic chapels are so fascinating on their own that adding the harp is simply icing on the cake!
Can't wait to be back and play in these stunning Bay Area wedding venues in 2023!

Weddings in 2022
As the 2022 wedding season is coming to an end it's time for my to reflect on how this year went for me and my business.
Wow, what an incredible year!
Coming out from 2 years of uncertainties due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the wedding industry kicked off and amazing 2022 season. Couples that had to postpone their weddings could finally pronounce their vows in front for their families and friends.
I've been incredibly blessed with so many couples that decided to hire me to play as they were walking down the aisle, as they exchanged rings and as they enjoyed they day among their guests.
I'd like to thank all the couples and wedding planners that choose me to be the soundtrack of their event. I'm very thankful for this and I'm glad I was able to meet your expectations and ever more!
Can't wait to see what 2023 weddings will be like!
